Nutrition Counseling By Registered Dietitians
What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think about getting healthier? Exercising more? Eating better? Most people pick one or the other, but they rarely choose both. However, research shows the importance of including both exercise and healthy eating habits to achieve long-lasting success. You can’t out-exercise a bad diet, and it’s incredibly hard to keep weight off without building muscle.
However, taking charge of your health is about so much more than losing weight and looking good. A healthy diet and regular exercise affect every area of your life. Your choice to become a healthier version of yourself affects so much more than just your waistline. Your sleep, mood, confidence, ability to concentrate, stress levels, and many other areas will all improve.
What can nutrition counseling do for you?
- Improve overall health and health risk factors
- Decrease body fat
- Build muscle mass
- Increase energy
Will I have to follow a strict diet?
Absolutely not. Your dietitian will help you find a way to fit all your favorite foods into a healthy diet. Can’t live without chocolate? We’ll show you how to fit it into a healthy diet with our nutrition counseling plan.
Will I have to give up anything?
Again, no. Nothing is “forbidden” in our nutrition counseling plan. It is simply about strategizing to allow room for your favorite foods. We follow an “all foods fit” model, meaning that if there’s something you really want to eat, we’ll find a way to work it into your diet.
Will I be judged for what I’m eating?
Our only goal is to provide constructive feedback about your diet. Studio Element does not judge, guilty, or shame its clients about any of their lifestyle choices. We provide constructive advice and suggestions and encourage you towards your goals.
Will it take up a ton of my time?
No. Our Fuel program is designed to make it as easy as possible for our busy clients to check in while on the go. The mobile app makes logging meals as easy as snapping a photo.
Will it be hard?
Sometimes. Other times you may be surprised by how easy it can be to make changes and stick to them. Our team at Studio Element is here to support you, hold you accountable, and guide you through any challenges.
Will this be a huge change all at once?
No. Trying to overhaul a lifetime of eating habits all at once is neither realistic nor sustainable. We work with you to set small goals that lead to bigger overall changes. This allows changes to stick. These small steps become a part of daily living that lead to a lifetime of healthy living.
Think you’re ready?
Our Nutrition Philosophy
“Diet” is a dirty word. You’re probably familiar with this scenario: A person decides they’re interested in losing weight. They start the newest, trendy diet that tells you to avoid gluten or dairy or all things delicious and wonderful. Of course, they see results on such a strict diet. But what happens when they stop dieting and start eating normally again? All that weight comes right back.
At Studio Element, our registered dietitian nutritionists don’t believe in restrictive dieting. Instead, we preach an “all foods fit” philosophy. The most beneficial thing you can do for your health is find a way to make healthy eating work for you for the rest of your life, not just for a few months. Want to enjoy a cookie or a glass of wine? We’ll help you find a way to fit that into your day. Our goal is to teach you how to eat healthy in a way that works for you.
Why choose Studio Element?
We pride ourselves in helping you achieve and surpass your health-related goals by creating customized, individualized plans. Our registered dietitians will build on your knowledge of healthy eating and formulate a plan that will fit into your already busy schedule. Just as our personal trainers keep you accountable to your workouts, our registered dietitians are there to keep you on track with your nutrition. More importantly, we will work to get you back on track when needed and adjust your plan to avoid future obstacles.
Our registered dietitians are trained professionals in nutrition counseling. While there is no regulation for the term “nutritionists”, dietitians are required to have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a nutrition-related field, 1200 hours of supervised practice, and pass the registered dietitian exam. Our team of experts are trained in motivational interviewing and behavior change. They will not only find a diet plan that works for you, but also address the mental, emotional, and environmental barriers that may be standing in your way. Our goal is to equip you with the tools needed to permanently maintain a healthy lifestyle.
