Goal setting is a powerful process for thinking about your ideal future, and for motivating yourself to turn your vision of this future into reality. The process of setting goals helps you choose where you want to go in life.

When coming up with new goals, make sure they are SMART goals!

Specific- What do you want to accomplish? Do you want to lose a certain number of pounds? What time frame would you like to accomplish this?

Measurable- How will you demonstrate and evaluate the extent to which the goal has been met? Are you working with a Personal Trainer to assess your progress?

Attainable- Stretch and challenging goals within ability to achieve outcome.

Relevant- Is the goal worthwhile and will it meet your needs?

Timely- When do you want to accomplish your goals?

Example: “I will lose 45 pounds in 6 months. I will lose this weight by going to the gym 4 days a week and work out at least an hour of those four days. I will also eat right and stay active on the days I don’t go to the gym”

Remember to make each goal achievable, yet challenging enough to where you have to work for it.
