Here’s the dilemma: you LOVE a refreshing Starbuck’s Frappuccino, but you know it is packed with sugar and calories. Well, our Registered Dietitian and Personal Trainer Chelsea may just have solved your dilemma! Try this healthy protein frappuccino that will keep you on track with your goals while giving you that refreshing boost you crave.

Protein Frappuccino

3 ice cubes
1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1/2 cup cold black coffee
1 scoop 1st Phorm Phormula-1 protein (this is a whey protein isolate)

Toppings (optional!):
Lite whipped topping
Lite chocolate syrup

Add the ice cubes, almond milk, coffee, and protein powder in a blender. Blend until smooth, then pour into a glass. Top with whichever toppings suit you! If you are trying to cut calories, you may not want toppings at all. Seriously, the frappuccino is amazingly satisfying in itself!

How does it compare to the Starbucks version?

Starbucks Mocha Frappuccino (tall size, skim milk, no whipped cream):

190 calories, 3 grams protein, 42 grams carb, 0.5 grams fat

Protein Frappuccino (no toppings):

111 calories, 24 grams protein, 2 grams carb, 1.5 grams fat

Wow! That’s a lot better. And since it has 24 grams of protein, it even doubles as a healthy snack that supports your lean muscle. It’s a win-win for all.
